The ‘Humility Competition’—How Christians Undermine Their Fellows’ Ambition towards Responsibility (for what is salt without saltiness? Faith without works is dead).
I Do Advocate On becoming Powerful, Because You become powerful in direct proportion to How Much Responsibility You Have. And Your Responsibility depends in turn on How Much Better You Make the World.
The ‘Humility Competition’—How Christians Undermine Their Fellows’ Ambition towards Responsibility (for what is salt without saltiness? Faith without works is dead).
I just received a comment on My YouTube from a self purported Christian, and I have No Doubt that He Is One—As Am I. He preached that My Video on ‘Vision’ particularly about manifesting Your Reality, this was a demonic practice apparently. What is more He expressed that every form of personal success strivings or petitions to God is ‘Worldly’ and ‘Idolatry.’
I am very familiar with this Line of Thought and it is a Patent Line lodged against Men of Faith Who want to move and shake up the world; You might call us ambitious. But I don’t want to focus on Myself or Others Who consistently try to Build Things, as I think that We Stand Firm and Stolid in Faith Even as We are besmirched.
Instead I’d like to focus on the all to common attitude and defense mechanisms of Christians Who want to have a ‘humility competition,’ Who Dress Up Excessive Puritanical Sanctimoniousness and pass this as the only real form of Christianity.
Let Me Tell You there Were Ancient Greeks, Syrians, and Today Russians and Koreans Who Are Christians [being followers and truly saved by Christ] Who think nothing alike to You and I. And it seems that the ‘Humility Competition’ has a predominately Dutch Origin although I have Seen it too in the Catholic Church during sermons [In Railing against ‘Mr. Business’].
Does Anyone Pull Christ Down from Heaven By Being So Aghast at Ambition that the Humility is Just too compelling for the Good Lord to Ignore.
Actually I think it is a thinly veiled defense mechanism along these Lines: They Cannot Operate In the World, therefore Operating in the World is Idolatry. But If They happen to receive a promotion, or seek a new line of work with better pay, this is Ok because they are clearly Not Idolatrous. They are the Most Humble of All Believers.
This seems to have struck a nerve with Me because I really have been gripped by the accusation of such sinking-thinking. And I was depressed and melancholic. Until the Spirit Gave Me a Pat on the Back and Said “It’s Not a Bad Thing To Try at Life, You Know.”
In fact I cannot integrate My personality Unless I operate as though I could be a Success, achieve High Status and Station. And Anyone Who says I’m Idolatrous because of this is Hypocritical, envious, or lackluster—and They Wish to Thwart My Very Soul.
I Do Advocate On becoming Powerful, Because You become powerful in direct proportion to How Much Responsibility You Have. And Your Responsibility depends in turn on How Much Better You Make the World.
The Modern Day Pseudo-Puritans God Bless Them, have not figured Out That Righteousness does not Come to Those Who Tear Castles Down; but rather To Those Who Build New Houses and New Temples. Who Bear Their Cross and Advance the Kingdom of Heaven On the Earth, where His Will is equally meted Out by the Hands of Hard Working Men and Women of Unflagging Faith—and yes Ambition (for what is salt without saltiness? Faith without works is dead). Amen - Greg W.
